More safety in less space: Our KIT and ring encoder

As a leading provider of state-of-the-art sensor solutions, we will be taking part in SPS 2024, the international trade fair for industrial automation. This year, we will be presenting our latest KIT encoder and a space-saving ring encoder. Both encoder product lines are characterised by a compact design and SIL2 certification and are ideal for numerous industrial applications.

A particular highlight is the KIT encoder with its compact design with an external magnet and high precision. With up to 65,536 steps per revolution and robust IP66/IP69K protection, this sensor is ideal for applications where space is very limited. SIL2 certification ensures safe integration in safety-critical applications. Several safety bus interfaces, such as CANopen Safety, are available. We also will show our ring encoder. This encoder has a hollow shaft with a diameter of up to 150 mm and is based on an inductive measuring principle. It has a resolution of up to 22 bits per revolution. Thanks to its high resistance to shock and vibration, this encoder is suited ideally to harsh operating conditions. With protection ratings up to IP69K and outstanding accuracy, the ring encoder is also suited terrificly for precise position and speed measurement in a variety of industries.

Thanks to their space-saving design, robustness and SIL2 safety certification, KIT encoders and ring encoders are ideal for a wide range of industrial applications. In mobile machinery, such as cranes and excavators, the compact design enables integration in confined machine spaces. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) benefit from the precise motion control and safety functions of the encoders, ensuring accurate navigation and safe load handling in busy industrial environments. In agricultural machinery, the rugged design of the encoders enables reliable operation even in harsh field conditions where the technology is regularly exposed to external influences. The construction industry, which relies heavily on durable and accurate sensor technology, can also benefit from the encoders' compact design and SIL2 certification, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery on construction sites.
