Product information "Inductive linear displacement transducers IW253"

The displacement transducer operates according to the differential choke principle (inductive half bridge). It consists of two coils enclosed in a stainless steel cylinder. A plunger made of mu-metal causes upon displacement through the hollow coil former causes an induction change in opposite directions in the two coils. This is converted by electronics into a signal proportional to the displacement signal. The electronics, built in modern SMD technology contains oscillator, demodulator, amplifier and current amplifier and current injector. It is short-circuit proof and protected against polarity reversal.
