SMART SAFETY-SENSORS
Agricultural machines are technical products used for precision farming. They enable more precise and efficient field cultivation and harvesting processes, resulting in cost-effectiveness and environmental friendliness due to the precise targeting and dosing of substances. Autonomous agricultural technology, including field robots in smaller vehicles, is becoming increasingly prevalent. This field requires a range of functionally safe sensor technology, which TWK provides. Their robust sensor technology has a high degree of IP protection up to IP69K and high EMC resistance, meeting the requirements of any work process and weather conditions. The sensors are compact and available with common industrial interfaces, including incremental, and are certified SIL2/PLd or SIL3 (incl. ASIL-D). Additionally, they can be supplied with an AgPLd certificate in accordance with the ISO 25119 standard, which has been specifically designed for tractors and machines used in agriculture and forestry. Should a specific feature be unavailable, TWK can act as a development partner with a production site in Germany to provide customised sensor solutions.

SAFETY FOR EVERY MEASUREMENT
Reliably recording and transmitting a large amount of data to the control system on an agricultural machine is crucial. This includes the positions of drive wheels and implements, rotational speeds of motors and wheels, machine alignment or inclination, and vibrations for condition monitoring. Our device families of functionally safe encoders, inclinometers, and vibration sensors cover a wide range of important measurement tasks. Certificates available on request include safety approvals such as SIL, and approvals in accordance with ATEX/IECEx, UL® and E1 type examination. The safety interfaces allow for parameterisation, remote status queries, multiple data output, fault detection and transmission. The device family offers a variety of versions, allowing users to cover multiple applications with a single device and save on set-up costs. The sensors can be accessed through both the safe transmission path (yellow channel) and the standard path (grey channel) using the keyword 'shared device'. This provides additional information, such as raw values.
