The compact FOI combines the high resolution and accuracy previously only familiar from optical rotary encoders with the robust design of magnetic rotary encoders in a single product. Each required number of pulses between 1 and 16,384 per revolution (360°) is available. The areas in which the FOI can be used include construction machines, slip ring bodies, wind turbines, elevators, oil and gas systems and many other applications in which precise positioning is required. The FOI is equipped with outputs A, B, Z as well as their inverted signals. It is optionally available with push-pull (HTL) or RS422 (TTL) output drivers. The sensor shaft is designed for axial and radial shaft loads of 40 and 110 N respectively. The FOI covers an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C with a system of protection of IP65.
