Safety for man and machine
The probability of a non-detected sensor error can be reduced either in the sensor or in the system control by plausibility checks. This allows the sensors to be used in safety installations.
If the plausibility check is to take place within the sensor, TWK supplies a range of sensors which are certified in accordance with DIN EIN 13849 (PLd) or IEC 61508 (SIL2). If the user wants to leave this task to his control system, redundant sensors are typically used. In this case, too, TWK has suitable sensors in its range. In potentially explosive atmospheres, the sensor heating must remain below the ignition temperature. For this reason, our ATEX (ATmosphères EXplosibles) sensors, certified in accordance with DIN EN IEC 60079, are designed in such a way that the ignition temperature is not exceeded even in the event of a short circuit. Safety in explosion protection is increased by a combination of functional safety and ATEX.
